Abstract:
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) and its deep penetration into the field of physical education, there is an urgent need for physical education (PE) teachers to transform their teaching competencies. The underlying mechanisms through which AI drives the transformation of PE teachers' teaching competencies are as follows: intelligent tools consolidate the foundation of their teaching competencies; intelligent diagnosis support the logic behind their teaching decisions; intelligent interaction reshapes the role of PE teachers; and intelligent scenarios expand the temporal and spatial boundaries of their teaching. The effectiveness of AI-driven transformation of PE teachers' teaching competencies is reflected in the following measures: facilitating a systematic restructuring of PE teachers' pedagogical cognition; promoting the iterative upgrading of PE teachers' instructional design; empowering a shift in the method of teaching implementation and organization; and driving the advancement of their models for instructional assessment and reflection. In the future, efforts to enhance PE teachers' teaching competencies through AI can be approached by stimulating their intrinsic motivation, improving institutional safeguards, optimizing in-service training, and providing external support.
